Temptation is the desire to perform an action that one may enjoy immediately or in the short term but will probably later regret for various reasons: legal, social, psychological (including feeling guilt), health-related, economic, etc. (Wikipedia)

I have been thinking about what my greatest temptations are when it comes to eating correctly and exercise.  So, for the next few days I will discuss what they are and how I am going to overcome them.  I hope that at least some of my temptations are the same ones you might struggle with and you might get some ideas on how to squash the strong temptations you face!

Procrastination is my number one problem when it comes to a lot of things exercise.  Even as I type this, I think to myself “You can just workout after x,y and z.”.  I know damn well that I will have another thought similar to this when that time comes.  So the only thing that really keeps me accountable when it comes to procrastination is scheduling it in my Google calendar AND publishing it for all of you to read.  I figure if even ONE person is reading this they might ask me how my workout was this morning and if I have to say “Well…I didn’t do it.” it will make me feel like I let someone besides myself down.

So at 8:15, when the kids get on the bus, I will be off to Planet Fitness in Belchertown to run on the dreadmill treadmill.  Will I like it? Probably not.  Will I be happy after I am done.  Most definitely.    Go ahead and ask if I worked out this morning.  Because of you readers and my calendar I will be thrilled to tell you YES!!!

Is procrastination a problem for you? What are your ways to combat this nasty habit???
